Adobe Connect is a web conferencing app that allows you to organize business meetings or virtual classrooms with just your smartphone. You can launch online meetings, manage them and get feedback from hundreds of participants – and all that for free.
The interface is nice and simple. During the conference, the screen is divided into several parts – attendee list, online chat, notes, and so on. This way you can easily monitor who’s attending your meeting or lecture, chat with them to give assignments or answer questions, speak directly through your webcam, and leave important information as short notes.
The central part of your screen is meant to show the most important information, like videos or slides. There is also an option to draw right on top of that, so you can explain things more comfortably. The controls of the app are smooth, and all buttons are big enough to be visible and easily clickable even on devices with smaller screens.
The main feature of Adobe Connect is hosting and attending different kinds of meetings, but there also many smaller features, including the ability to broadcast your camera and microphone. The app allows you to accept or deny users from entering your conference, to assign users’ roles, to talk with other users via chat, or create and participate in polls.
Most of those features are used rarely indeed, but they are always at hand when they are needed, and this gives you a lot of flexibility. The system also allows you to record your meetings and then edit these recordings, or add your company’s logo and colors to every conference, which is great for business use. Still, there are some occasional problems with video player and joining other users’ meetings.
Adobe Connect is very useful, thanks to all the features that cover almost every possible demand. There are a few things that could use some improvement, though. For example, there is still no possible way to maintain a private chat with only one person or make a phone call without involving a third party. And there are audio problems from time to time, but nothing too serious.
This app is meant to work with Android devices, and it requires Android version 4.4 or higher. But if you use some other kind of device, there is probably a version that supports it as well. At least there is the iOS version of the app that supports the use of iPhones and iPads, and desktop version for personal computers.
Adobe Connect is a great app for hosting online conferences. It has all the features you could need to host an online lecture or a company meeting, and much more. So if you need to conduct a lot of meetings every now and then, this app may become one of your main instruments to work, teach or learn.
